We Conquered Mount Kilimanjaro!
January of 2025 saw our group of intrepid explorers take on the mighty challenge of climbing to Uhuru Peak, the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, at 19,341ft tall it is the highest free-standing mountain in the world.
Our team, made up of Poppy’s Dad Peter Eagle, brother Oliver Eagle, and close family friends, Ted Boyle, Phil Ingamells, Paul Reid and Tom Reid, backed up by Craig Rogers and Luke Beckley from Uncharted Summits and fellow adventurer Nozomi Itani. Together faced the some of the hardest challenges, and worst weather they had ever witnessed in their lives, deep into freezing temperatures and 50mph+ winds on the Summit Night itself, but, with grit and determination, and a team bond that could not be broken, they achieved their goal of reaching the summit and waving the Poppy’s Light Foundation Flag at the highest point in Africa… and we couldn’t be prouder of them
